Key Points
Intro: "Under the Cover" is a zine that explores hidden places and hidden stories. The product of the project was a black and white zine about the sewer system and hidden waterways in Vancouver. I disseminated the zines into my neighbourhood using the shared "little library" box.
In order to create interest in a seemingly mundane story I used the unique and often unnoticed designs of manhole covers as an entry point.
I created an infographic, utilized images edited in photoshop, and experimented with layout and hierarchy in order to explain more complex ideas and make the zine more visually engaging.
